DEPUTY MINISTER PHUMZILE MGCINA TO ATTEND YOUTH IN MINING CONVENTION AND OFFICIALLY LAUNCH SKILLS PARTNERSHIP PROGRAMME IN RADISSON BLU HOTEL, SANDTON, GAUTENG PROVINCE

The Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Ms Phumzile Mgcina (MP) will on Friday, 31 July 2026 attend Youth in Mining Convention and Launch National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Skills Partnership Programme for at Radisson Blu Hotel, Sandton, Gauteng province.

The Youth in Mining Convention seeks to address the challenges facing young people in the mining sector by providing a coordinated platform that brings together government, industry, development partners and youth to promote skills development, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable employment opportunities within the mining value chain.

During the convention, the Deputy Minister will encourage young people to participate in the minerals sector, particularly through the Department's Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining Programme.
